As you can see below there is a salad with corn chips and nut pate, tandoori nut balls, make great nutmeat balls, a slice of raw pizza with the best marinara sauce, cashew cheeze, nut balls, basil and oat groats, flax and sprouted wheat base. I also made a couple of trays of flax crackers which last for a long time!
Irealized that during the months from April to June I have tried 2 or 3 times to eat 100% raw and have managed for maybe 3 days and then just eaten a cooked snack and gone bck to being 80-90% raw. And that is still high raw and I realized I should not beat myself up about eating some cooked corn chips or a piece of bread, after all I still cook evening nutritious meals for my 3 children and husband and they are not vegan, though I have tried to buy organic chicken if I can and fish like salmon or white fish. Chicken and fish is all I cook for them and sometimes I make a totally vegan/vegetarian dish. I do however make sure my children drink a green smoothie every day with me and I try to juice carrot and cucumber juice with apples or oranges when I can. I'm including more salads with them too. So that really helps. I'm grateful they have been so healthy because of it. They barely get sick and if they get a touch of a cold, I just make lemon, ginger and honey drink for them whisked in blender and get them to drink it twice a day and in a few days along with jucing they are right as rain.

Been A Long time

Its been a long time since I have written here. Back in april I stayed 100% raw for almost a week and then went back to eating mostly raw in the day and eating some cooked food at night. I've been that way for the past 2 months and I have been on and off sometimes eating bread in the day, so I have not been feeling always 100% great but I know its a working progress. I battled with that quite a bit feeling that I wanted to be completely 100% raw and that it was the best way and no other way was good. However I've gotten to realize its all a journey and that its a natural progression towards what your body needs .

I have continued drinking my green smoothies, feeding them to my children and eating as much raw during the day as possible. I would like to get to the place where I was eating primarily raw during the evening too. It just felt better.... So here goes to naturally telling my body to prepare more raw food for myself in the evening as well, not just the daytime.

To give me a boost I'm going to post all the raw delicious food I made during the months from March through May and get my self motivated to start making them again. Today I will start my day off with a big smoothie of bananas, blueberries and collards and have plenty of water and a salad in the day. Here are some of the food I've made in the past up above. I'll post more periodically to boost myself.

3rd day raw and feeling pretty good. I must say last night I did look at the rice and dinner I'd made for the family and think I would usually be tasting some, but I just did not. Instead I made some yummy cacao almond cookies, drizzled over with more chocolate. Put them in the fridge for the little munchkins tomorrow, including myself!!

This morning did my Billy Blanks Tae-bo work out again and had a good sweat. Later had my green smoothie with spinach, frozen fruit and bananas. Later had an orange, apple, banana and around 3pm made a cacao, hemp and maca pudding something I learned from Chef David when I took a training course at "dalenes" restaurant in Kirkland, Washington, the best raw vegan restaurant in the Seattle area, without question!!

Later had a glass of Royal greens superfood green mix with hemp. I also now and then snack on almonds, raisins or goji berries. I had the dehydrated crust of a pizza in the freezer too. This is the pizza I made several weeks ago. Even my 7 year old son liked it!

That's a picture of my lovely 3 year old drinking a green smoothie with lots of smiles. I took plenty of fruit to the beach and stayed raw all day.

A New Day

I have decided to finally give myself a 30 day raw challenge. I thought to my self that would start !st April 2008, but I actually started it 31st March, which was great. This challenge would be to be 100% raw as best as I could be , what with some dried herbs and spices you do not know but to the best that I can be with the fruits , vegetables, nuts and seeds that I eat, including any dehydrated goodies I make. With that said, LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN!!!

Monday March 31st

My order came in from Lucky Vitamin, with my raw superfoods ordered for the first time. Raw cacao powder, maca, cacao nibs, hemp powder, and raw cashews. I was so happy, now I can finally make some raw cacao treats. We actually went to the beach today, I have 3 beautiful children and it was a beautiful day to start my 100% raw journey with no interruptions from cooked food. I started the day by immediately making raw chocolate almond milk for everybody and that went down well.

3 cups water

1 cup almonds, blended and strained, then added maybe 1/4 cup cacao powder, agave, little vanilla, throw in a spoon of maca and voila, a delicious real milk chocolate drink.

A little while later had my green smoothie, with 2 big handfuls spinach, couple bananas, a frozen mix of papaya, pineapple and mango, tastes so good my children all get a cup!
